Supporting Young Minds and Growing Lives

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in CA.

You’ve tried everything you can think of to feel better, but nothing’s sticking.

At Sacred Cedar, child and adolescent psychiatric care is led by Dr. Setare Eslami, a psychiatrist with extensive experience supporting young people and their families through emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Her approach is grounded, collaborative, and deeply informed by years of working with children and teens across a range of settings.

We understand that growing up today comes with unique pressures—and that emotional or behavioral struggles are often signals of deeper needs that deserve careful attention. Whether a child is experiencing anxiety, mood changes, attention issues, or difficulty coping with life transitions, we begin by listening and working to understand the whole picture.

Our care includes thorough evaluation and, when appropriate, thoughtful medication support tailored to each child’s stage of development and life context. We have particular experience with ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, sensory sensitivities, and school-related stress.

We also work closely with caregivers, recognizing that children grow within families, not in isolation. When needed, we collaborate with schools, therapists, and other providers to make sure each child’s care is well-supported from every angle.

You are struggling with

  • A child who’s been struggling with focus, impulsivity, or emotional outbursts—at home, at school, or both.

  • A neurodivergent young person navigating sensory sensitivities, big emotions, or social challenges that feel hard to explain.

  • A family noticing sudden shifts in mood, sleep, or school performance, unsure whether it’s a passing phase or something deeper.

  • A teen who seems more withdrawn, anxious, or overwhelmed than usual and is having a hard time coping.

Support emotional balance, focus, & growth.

  • Children with ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) may struggle with focus, impulsivity, hyperactivity, or emotional regulation. These challenges often show up at school, at home, and in relationships. We offer comprehensive evaluation and, when appropriate, medication management tailored to each child’s developmental stage. Our approach also includes collaboration with caregivers, teachers, and therapists to ensure the care plan is practical and supportive across environments.

  • Anxiety in children and teens can look like excessive worry, school refusal, sleep difficulties, irritability, or perfectionism. We provide careful assessment to understand the root of the anxiety and how it shows up in daily life. Treatment may include psychoeducation, coping strategies, parent guidance, and, when indicated, medication to help ease symptoms so the child can engage more fully with life.

  • Depression in young people often shows up as irritability, withdrawal, low motivation, changes in sleep or appetite, or a loss of interest in things they once enjoyed. We work to understand what’s contributing to these shifts and offer treatment that may include talk therapy, family support, and medication when needed. Early intervention can help kids and teens reconnect with their sense of self and begin to feel more steady and hopeful.
